My good friend Shana called me the other day, while I was sleeping. Apparently everyone calls while I'm sleeping. To ask me to help her out with a shoot. So I said yes, since I haven't seen her in awhile, and she offered free food.

I bring my camera with me everywhere. And this is one of the reasons I do. Because everything fascinates me. And I like getting it etched in silver. Shana is working on a "behind the scenes" documentary to put up on her website. And I just started shooting to contribute. I mean, it is what I do.

Photography is more than just picking up a camera. Especially fashion photography. I never understood "photographers" who say they do it all. Weddings, fashion, journalism, sports. They are all different and require specialization. Saying you do them all means you are not very good at any. Shana goes through these elaborate initiatives to get a shoot set up. Booking the studio, reserving a makeup artist, a wardrobe specialist, hairstylists and of course the model. Sitting here comfortably is Autumn.
